Student Guild

Senyonjjo James, President

Greetings from Uganda Baptist Seminary especially from the Students’ Guild, We are thankful to God for the great work of preparing and equipping Servants of God’s vineyard through dedicated administrative, teaching and support staff. The students usually attend a month’s session where apart from the class work, we are involved in personal evangelism, preaching in different Churches as requested by different Pastors in the nearby Churches, we have chapels at least three times a week at the campus where different students are assigned texts by the Academic dean and students also moderate the services, We also are involved in weekly Wednesday evening fellowships where still students preach and then the second last Wednesday we have Lord’s supper as a model for other pastors to learn and also to appreciate the different ways other Churches do it since there different denominations in the student body.

As the Guild President I am passionate about the unity in fellowship amidst the divergent doctrinal statements of different Churches, so longer as we maintain the focus of preaching sound doctrines in line with the Scriptures and also acknowledging and maintaining the First level doctrinal teachings which basically are centered on the deity of Christ and acknowledging the Trinity.

I am thankful for the Guild council that has worked tirelessly to see that the above-mentioned activities are put in place, The Guild council is comprised of 9 student leaders who are all class presidents. The Guild council has a fund named the “Benon Mugabo fund” which students contribute to through offering made on Wednesdays and then the Guild contributions that are contributed at the end of the term. Definitely amidst all the above there are some challenges ranging from fees payments, space for some activities and many others but they do not out way the need of being made disciples through training in God’s Word.

Therefore continue to pray for Uganda Baptist Seminary as we continue to “Preach the Word” and also to find faithful men to be trained and then who will in turn be able to teach others the things they have heard being taught rather than teaching and preaching the false gospel.
