Campus Life

The UBS campus is located in Jinja, Uganda. UBS currently has almost 250 students during the year, with a maximum capacity each term of about 120 students. The facilities have had to stay up with the increase from 8 students when it began. We host students from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Sudan, South Sudan, Rwanda, Burundi, and DRC. We are privileged to hear reports of how God is working in so many places around East Africa.

The campus accommodates a semi-residential student program. While attending four week terms, the students share dorm room facilities and wash rooms. An ever growing library is a resource for students and faculty, and maintained by our degreed librarian. A computer lab is used by all program levels to learn basic computer skills and to type research papers. Six classrooms accommodate the students, with occasional sessions under the mango tree.

Spiritual

The morning chapel service takes place three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday) and plays an important role in the spiritual life of the students at UBS. Each chapel is led by the students in worship and preaching. This not only provides an opportunity for the preaching student to practice sermon-preparation and delivery, Students also have quiet time on days where there is no chapel.

Accommodations

We have a number of classic facilitated rooms for both ladies and gentlemen. Each student is assigned a room on arrival for studies. There is plenty of warm running water, modern toilets and bathrooms, well treated mosquito nets and a cool environment that enables our students to have the best rest they need.

Meals

UBS provides balanced meals to all students and staff based on a weekly menu. On a single day, we have breakfast at 9:00, break tea at 11:30, lunch at 13:30, and supper at 18:00. Our chef and kitchen staff prepare a variety of foods each meal time and try to cook favorites of the students.

Library

The UBS library has more than 13,000 volumes of books and about 1,500 periodicals, journals, magazines, and other special collections. While in the library, you can access the internet and UBS library system giving you an opportunity to access online materials from renowned publishers.

ICT Services

The ICT department caters for all IT related challenges for both staff and students. The department has the ability to plan, change, implement, or troubleshoot any IT challenge that you may encounter while at campus, giving the best advice when needed. Each computer in the computer lab has WIFI access and students can purchase additional vouchers for personal devices.

Medical Care

Our main medical goal is to provide a better and good health to all the men and women serving the Lord at UBS. The clinic has the responsibility of ensuring both curative and preventive services about various illnesses. It also offers counseling services both at individual and group level.

Finance Department

The finance department is managed by two people, a Finance Officer and a Bursar/HR. The office is open from 8:00 to 17:00 (Monday to Friday) and from 8:00 to 13:00 on Saturday.
